Following a two-week detention, he was released, but he faced another arrest in June 2024 at his Abuja residence on defamation charges related to a social media post.
On June 30, 2024, he was briefly questioned by police regarding defamation allegations and was released shortly after. On September 26, 2024, Falana & Falana Chambers issued a 24-hour ultimatum, demanding an apology and retraction from Vdm regarding alleged defamatory remarks about Femi Falana in a September 25 Instagram post.
