Mercy Johnson Early Life and Education
Mercy Johnson originates from Okene in Kogi State. Born in Lagos on August 28, 1984, she is the fourth of seven children in a family headed by her father, a retired naval officer, and her mother.
She began her primary education in Calabar, Cross River State, but later transferred to Lagos due to her father’s naval duties. There, she attended Nigerian Navy Primary School. She completed her secondary education at Rivers State Secondary School and Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt.

After completing her education, Mercy Johnson auditioned for a role in The Maid, which marked her entry into Nollywood. She has since starred in films such as Hustlers, Baby Oku in America, and War in the Palace.
In 2009, she received the Best Supporting Actress award at the African Movie Academy Awards for Live to Remember. She also won the Best Actress award at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for Dumebi the Dirty Girl.
